Just realized next year will be the last of this, I like the longer days

The U.S. Senate passed legislation that would make daylight saving time permanent starting in 2023, ending the twice-annual changing of clocks in a move promoted by supporters advocating brighter afternoons and more economic activity

The change would help enable children to play outdoors later and reduce seasonal depression, according to supporters.

Not a fan

I enjoy over the summer when it stays bright past 8pm and the kids can play

Lets see how this plays out and if it doesnt work, hopefully we go back to longer and shorter days

Wouldn't summer stay the same though?

It's the winter months that will be different

Or you saying you like the shorter days in winter?

I could be wrong here but i see summer 1 hour shorter and winter 1 hour longer.

I dont mind shorter days in the winter. I'm at the fields every night so i'm used to seeing it dark. I guess in colder places, more people are inside anyways, b/c of the weather?

I like long summers where we can play outside in the light, play in the pool, bbq, etc. Can do more fun activities when its light outside

This will cause problems in some areas for kids going to school during winter in the dark. Other than that it’s a good idea.

What's crazy about this is what I read and understand is it was initiated by the state of Florida and no other states challenged it and now after the fact some aren't happy about it

Doesn’t some parts of Arizona have daylight savings and some parts do not?

Summertime is made for daylight.

Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings, with the exception of the Navajo Nation. Arizona previously observed Daylight Savings beginning in 1918, but made the permanent change to Standard time in 1968.”

The House hasn't passed this. So it's still a question also even it becomes law certain states like above mentioned Arizona will never go along with it.
